Who we are

bertrand creekOur Vision is to restore and revitalize Bertrand Creek as a living greenway that preserves wildlife habitat, while providing opportunity for outdoor recreation.

Formed in 1993 the BCES has evolved into a group of concerned and dedicated residents of the Aldergrove Community. The BCES is coordinated by Langley Environmental Partners Society (LEPS). We host lively monthly meetings, summer pot lucks and many community events throughout the year.

Our Tasks include:

  1. Working to raise awareness and community pride and ownership in our stream
  2. Removing invasive plant species from along the stream bank
  3. Planting native trees and shrubs along stream banks
  4. Partnering with the Township of Langley to enhance the future Jackman Wetland park site
  5. Supporting local elementary school Environmental Clubs
  6. Installing stream side fencing to reduce livestock impact
  7. Educating local residents through landowner contact initiatives
  8. Cleaning up garbage in and around the stream
  9. Storm Drain Marking
